Italian Cream Soda Recipe

This Italian cream soda syrup recipe can be used to make delicious Italian cream sodas, or you can omit the half and half & heavy whipping cream for a traditional cream soda.

1c sugar
1c water
1 tbsp. lemon juice
1 tbsp. pure vanilla extract
2 tbsp. half & half OR 1 tsp. heavy whipping cream

Cream soda syrup prep
  1. Put sugar & 1/4c water in medium saucepan
  2. Stir mixture until sugar is dissolved 
  3. Heat mixture over medium-high until the sugar is caramelized
  4. Slowly add the water and lemon juice
  5. Add vanilla extract & remove from heat
  6. Pour into 1 quart mason jar & save for up to two weeks
To make a glass of Italian cream soda
  1. Fill a glass 3/4 full with ice
  2. Add 3 tbsp. syrup
  3. Add half & half or whipping cream
  4. Fill glass with carbonated water
  5. Gently stir
